This second novel by Anne Odom is very different from her first novel, The Duchess of Bristol, in both content and writing style. The prose is crisper, but just as descriptive. Character development is not as thorough, but still enough to clearly see and fit the story style. I believe the character development will become richer as the trilogy continues. Both books have strong female protagonists, portrayed as loving women. I'm looking forward to the rest of the trilogy, and the sequel to Diana's story as the Duchess of Bristol!Product details

I have known Anne for over 50 years. She has three books in the series. Each book made me want to read the next one. She did excellent research on the book about Cherokees and their customs. The language of the of the Cherokee was correct. The language of the book was written in the era of the books. If youhave a love for Texas History Novels these books are a must to have in your collection.
This is a fantastic read. I can't wait for the other two in this trilogy!

I could not put this book down until I finished it. The author has written a compelling story! I can't wait for the second volume. This is a love story but more than that it is a lesson in history that needs to be told more often!!!
I have known Anne for far longer than she has been a writer and have now read both of her books. I enjoyed the first quite a bit and this one even more! She is learning the trade VERY fast and is, In my humble opinion, destined to produce MANY more good things!
